me: Taka liked cute things. He liked to play with them and pet them and tell them they were cute. One day, he met Yuuji. Yuuji was very cute. Taka knew they would be good friends.
Yuuji liked Taka, but his favorite thing was fighting crime. That's what secret bases are good for. So he and Taka built lots of secret bases, and together, they fought crime.
The police were very happy to have the help.
But they asked if they could please stop doing the pose after defeating the bad guys.
"No!" Yuuji said. "The pose is important!"
"That's where we get our super-strength," Taka said. "It's very important."
So the police said, "Okay, you can do it. But please wear looser pants next time."
"No!" Yuuji said. "The shorts are important!"
"I like them," Taka said. "A lot."
"Taka likes them," Yuuji confirmed. "Best friends wear shorts for each other."
"Best friends take them off for each other too!" Taka said before he quite knew what he was saying.
The police sighed.

1. Teenage fanbrats (usually in KAT-TUN, sometimes stray to the 'prettiest' members of other bands).
2. Veteran Fans who have been active in several other fandoms previous to JE.
Type #2 are the meat and potatoes of fandom. They support and supply and moderate and keep things running smoothly. They are the 'staff' of the fandom, in essence. Type #1 are the clients, to extend the metaphor.
But see, here's the thing. #2's come from other fandoms. They know what wank looks like and what causes it; they take steps to prevent. Aside from KAT-TUN, pairing wars in JE fandom are practically unheard of. OTPs, while present, are less "So and So are devoted to each other and only each other" and more "I like porn with these two the bestest ♥". You will have a hard time in JE if you come in with your strict OTP and never look or appreciate anything else. It just doesn't work.
JE bands are great friends. They love each other, ALL of them. If you as a fan cannot understand that, you're going to have problems.
KY has attempted exactly that. She approaches fandoms like a yaoi fangirl; her OTP, and only her OTP. She attempts to use 'logic' (screenscaps as evidence, jumping to conclusions, ignoring the actual personality of the people involved and often the context and speaking as thought Her Way is the Only Way) and her extended 'analysis' to convince people. She does put thought into it; but she frequently accepts only her own conclusions, unwilling to see other potentials.
I ship Ohmiya, firm and fast. But anyone who has ever spoken to me or even read my journal for a brief time should be well aware that I ship Arashi first and foremost; they love each other, all of them. I also do not for a SECOND believe they are truly dating. I would like to think they are; I think they have a chemistry, a spark, whatever. I suspect, I guess, I have a hunch; I do not BELIEVE, per se.
A grain of salt. Or better yet, a whole shaker.
KY is stepping into K8 on the wrong foot entirely. It's not that her pairing is wrong, or her opinions are wrong; it's how she phrases, how she ignores everything else, how she exludes any other possibilities but her own. She blocks people out and refuses to listen to reason.
She has already upset SEVERAL people in fandom, and there is a quiet move to blacklist her. I think that while this would be a load off my mind, it's the wrong move. JE welcomes everyone.
We just want 'everyone' to be a little less crazy.
KY will attempt to make herself seem victimized. She likes attention, like many BNFs of small fandoms do. She's very good at spinning things to make it seem like she's innocent, attacked, trolled. The truth is more like she blundered big time and upset people, and instead of doing to mature thing and apologizing and laying low for a bit, she makes a fuss.
Do not troll her. Do not attack her. If you comment, be civil, rational, and don't go anon. Don't give her a way to make you look like the bad guy.
With any luck, she'll either stay quiet in fandom, or come to some sense.
But if her history is any indicator, I won't be holding my breath.

My rain has turned into a moderate drizzle.
I explained things to Gayle. I told her how I might have to move, how my cost of living will go up, how I don't entirely know what's going to happen, and WON'T know until Sunday. I asked about a possible raise, since my hours have been cut.
She talked to Siri; they turned down the raise, and decided to add 2 hours back into my schedule somehow instead. That means I'm losing $40 off my paycheck, rather than $80.
Even better, Danielle (daytime Office Admin) is looking to have some of her hours cut so she can be with her foster kids more. She said she was MORE than happy to give said hours to me.
How relieved am I? Very.
I looked at a place today; it was tiny. One building, 10 units. It has a big empty field for a backyard (I saw a bluebird!... and accidentally scared the crap out of it. Oops.) and it looks out over Hwy 217. $550, utilities included. I left a message for the manager so I can see the inside of a unit soon.
Actually, now that I think about it, it looks a lot like a less-dodgy version of the complex Kurosaki owned in 'Kurosagi'. I don't think the manager is Yamapi; his voicemail told me to 'Have a blessed day!'
I cringed. Ahahaha, sometimes I'm painfully athiest.
Tomorrow I plan to visit the place that's $475 with utilities. Obviously,let's hope it's amazing and win. And that they don't mind the fact that I have no co-signer, no credit, and only 4 months rental history.

Man, when life gives you lemons, IT GIVES YOU A LOT OF FLIPPING LEMONS.
1. My hours have been cut due to the school no longer being open on Saturdays. This is $80 per paycheck I will no longer have. Insert childish sobs and fetal position here.
2. Chiyo, if she cannot get a job by Sunday, will have to move. I cannot afford rent and bills split between two people, and will also have to move. Shittily enough, if I move, Rose either needs a new roommate, or she'll also have to move. Delightful.
3. School starts next Monday. Insert me wanting to claw my eyes out here.
4. I am currently moderately depressed, but this might be PMS; it remains to be seen. If it IS depression, then I need to try medication again STAT, as this will be the third depression in a year.
5. Stress. I attempt to lead a fairly stress-free life, but rarely does it work. This entire summer, and year, really, has been an uncomfortable time period for me in general.
So, as you can see, while I'd like to be able to say everything is coming up roses, the truth is that my seams are kind of sketchy right now. Please don't tug on them. I might fall apart.

Kase Ryo, the guy who co-starred with Nino in Letters and with Sho in HachiMitsu, spent the first seven years of his life in Bellevue Washington. As in, my Bellevue. The city I consider my hometown because I lived there longer than anywhere else (11 years).

Wikipedia is one of the sites not blocked at work. I spent the first two hours browsing info! Did you know that actress who plays Torii-sensei on YamaTaro has a 1st degree black belt? Or that Clint Eastwood has 5 daughters and 2 sons? And that the reason in Letters that they had Saigo bury the general off-screen was because his body was never actually found?

It's 11:30, and I find myself wandering here to spill my thoughts, rather than LJ. A good step, I suppose.
Today I nearly cried at work. Some douche decided to get snappy with me, which normally would be fine, except that in the process, Doreen snapped at me too. About something no one told me. I can't really blame her; Danielle SHOULD have told me, and Doreen is very busy and very stressed.
But even after all these years, I still take disappointing people terribly.
My mother's tone, her expression, her put-upon sighs, her frustrated tears... to this day, the memory makes me feel small and helpless all over again. When the OCD and depression were so bad I couldn't function properly, she lost patience with me over and over again. It's my weakness; disappointing people.
It's been almost a year, since I arrived at Pacific. I was so hopeful, so happy, so ready to succeed. And one by one, things just fell apart. I can't go back there; I can't face them, any of them. It hurts too much. There's a bitterness and a self-loathing involved that I don't know if I'll ever get over.
No regrets. No regrets. No regrets.
My mantra plays over and over in my head, drowning out the absolute pain of it all.
I don't know. I'm thinking too much again. It hurts.
Arashi say that when you can't see the road in front of you anymore, follow your own. It's okay, to take the other path. It's okay.

2. I will ship anywhere as long as you don't mind the fact that international costs you. Seriously, if you PAY for shipping to Uzbekistan, I will SEND it to Uzbekistan. I don't mind. XD
3. If you want an item, comment here with the item you want, your email address, and paypal address. I will reply, and send an email asking for your mailing address. Once I have that, I calculate postage and invoice you. You have 24 hours to pay; if I hear nothing from you otherwise, it goes back up.
4. I will hold things for you, but only if you are seriously interested. This is not a department store; I don't have a 'hold' rack. When you want to put something on hold, tell me when you will know for sure. If I don't hear from you by that deadline, it goes back up.
5. Prices are somewhat negotiable. I'm listing them at roughly what they cost me, but keep in mind shipping is on top of that. If I list something for $30, I will not give it to you for $15, but I might for $25. Feel free to make offers!

Once upon a time in February umbrellaofdoom linked me to a video on youtube, because she touted it as "the gheiest dance there ever was". And she was right, as you'll see later. Anyway, long story short, I fell in love with a Japanese boyband. But not just any boyband; these boys sing, dance, act (in movies, TV, AND stage), as well as many other things that are too numerous to list in the preface.
Yes. There are parts. I reccomend taking copious notes; there will be a quiz at the end of the lesson.
I'm one of those CRAZY fans you read about. The kind that spend loooooads of money to fly to Japan to see one concert. The kind that can list every member's height in standard AND metric. The kind that actually knows more about them than her NATIVE JAPANESE FRIENDS. That's right; I'm a fangirl.
Arashi has stolen my heart and raped my wallet through their ability to be sexy AND dorky. Plus? They are geniunely nice boys. As you will see.

How to Buy
Comment on this post with the items you want, and your email address. I will then strike-out your item(s) from the list and email you with your subtotal. From there, you can give me your address and form of payment, and I will then send your final total (shipping included). If for any reason you cannot pay, I will cancel the sale and place the items back on the list. Do not claim items unless you intend to buy them. I will not hold for more than 24 hours.
